Slovenia, just a few kilometres from Trieste, offers a convenient EU flag for those who sail in the northern Adriatic. Agenzia Magnum helps you register your boat in the Slovenian registers.
The registers are kept by the Slovenian Maritime Administration (Uprava RS za pomorstvo), based in Koper (Capodistria) with offices in Izola and Piran, under the Slovenian Maritime Code. Boats under 24 metres (čolni) are entered in the boat register, while ships, including yachts of 24 metres and over, are entered in the ship register. Official information is available on the Uprava za pomorstvo website.
The Maritime Code defines a boat as a vessel under 24 metres in length, and a yacht as a ship intended for sport or leisure, for personal or commercial use, that can carry up to 12 passengers in addition to the crew. Boats registered in Slovenia must fly the Slovenian flag outside Slovenian territorial waters. To be registered, the vessel must be certified as seaworthy following an inspection.
The flag does not change the VAT and customs status of the boat.
We prepare the required documents (invoice or authenticated bill of sale, customs declaration where applicable, builder's certificate, manufacturer's declaration of conformity, deletion from the previous register), arrange the inspection and coordinate the procedure with the Slovenian administration and the local representative.
Contact us using the form at the bottom of the page with your boat's details.
