Services for Dealers and Brokers

For a boat dealer, distributor or broker, a sale is only truly closed when the paperwork is in order. Agenzia Magnum handles all the paperwork for the vessels that boat sales professionals have on offer, from the sea trial to handover to the customer.

Before and during the sale

• Temporary navigation: boat sales companies and yacht brokers can obtain an authorisation for trials, customer demonstrations and transfers, including to boat shows abroad, for new vessels or vessels on consignment;
• document checks on the vessel: ownership, recorded deeds and mortgages, technical and conformity documents, licence and safety certificate;
• collecting the necessary documents from the buyer, including foreign buyers or those living abroad, who must elect an address for service in Italy or appoint a representative.

After the sale

• registration of new vessels, including provisional registration, so the customer can go to sea straight away while the procedure is completed;
• transfer of ownership: recording of the deed in the ATCN (Archivio telematico centrale delle unità da diporto, the Italian central electronic register of pleasure craft) must be requested within sixty days, or one hundred and twenty if the party lives abroad;
• deregistration for sale abroad, including applying to the Central Registry Office (Ufficio di conservatoria centrale, UCON) for clearance to leave the Italian flag (nulla osta alla dismissione di bandiera);
• recording commercial use when the buyer intends to charter or hire out the vessel.

Imports

Vessels from another EU country need a certificate of deregistration from the foreign register; non-EU vessels also need customs clearance, which we coordinate with licensed brokers. The procedures go through the Ministry's central electronic system for pleasure boating (Sistema telematico centrale della nautica da diporto).
