Many European owners choose the Polish flag for vessels up to 24 metres, thanks to a digital procedure that is also open to foreign owners. Agenzia Magnum helps you register your boat in the Polish register.

Who runs the register

Vessels up to 24 metres are entered in the register of yachts and other vessels up to 24 metres in length, governed by the Polish law of 12 April 2018 and managed through the REJA24 electronic system. Entries are made by the registration bodies: the district offices (starosta) or the relevant sports federation, such as the Polish Yachting Association (PZŻ). On registration the vessel acquires Polish nationality, and the registration document serves as proof of it.

Who can register

The yacht registration law sets no citizenship or residence requirements for the owner. Foreigners without a Polish personal identification number (PESEL) or a business in Poland submit the application through an attorney holding a power of attorney. Vessels already entered in a foreign register must be deleted from it before registration.

Which vessels

The register covers pleasure yachts and commercial yachts (for example for crewed charter, paid cruises or training) up to 24 metres, provided they carry no more than 12 passengers. Larger vessels follow the rules of the Polish ship register.

The Polish Parliament is considering a reform that would, among other things, introduce a preliminary inspection of the vessel before registration: we always check the rules in force at the time of the application. The flag neither proves nor changes the VAT and customs status of the vessel, which must be documented separately.
