Boat Trade Plates

Trade plates (targa prova) are issued to anyone whose business is building or repairing boats.

The activity must be declared at the Chamber of Commerce expressly as the business actually carried out, not merely in the company's stated objects.

To obtain them, all that is needed is an up-to-date Chamber of Commerce company report (visura camerale), an identity document of the owner and their signature authorising us to apply.

Trade plates are issued by the Harbour Office (Capitaneria di Porto) responsible for the area where the company is based.

They may be used for trials of boats built or repaired by the company, which may only be helmed by the owner or an employee of the company carrying supporting documents on board (a payslip or the company report).

Trade plates carry their own insurance, without which they can be neither issued nor renewed.
