Driving Licence Renewal

Every week our agency holds driving licence renewal sessions under the new procedures.

What has changed:

• The renewal sticker is no longer issued: instead, your licence is replaced with a new one, which is delivered to our agency, avoiding problems with postal delivery.
• No more waiting months for your renewal to arrive! The new licence reaches our office within 20 days at most (it currently takes 2 to 3 days from the examination).
• Your details are updated at the Motor Vehicle Office (Motorizzazione Civile) with a new, up-to-date photo.
• The renewal window has been extended from 3 to 4 months before the expiry date.
• Your address no longer appears on the licence, so it no longer needs updating when you move.

Renewal examinations take place every Tuesday and are carried out by Dr Lorenzo Tucci.

To renew your driving licence you need:

• 4 passport-size photos
• Your driving licence
• If the licence has expired, an additional valid identity document.

We also book appointments with the provincial medical boards for drivers with disabilities and for examinations following drink-driving offences.

As well as ordinary driving licences, we issue medical certificates for: issue/renewal of firearms licences (Porto d'Armi), issue/renewal of boating licences, renewal of the C.A.P. (professional driver's certificate)

What is the C.Q.C.?

The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Carta di Qualificazione del Conducente) is a kind of professional licence, compulsory for anyone who uses a higher-category licence for work. It must be renewed after completing a course at an authorised driving school. It gives the driver 20 points in addition to the twenty on an ordinary driving licence. Under the latest rules it is no longer issued as a separate document but is recorded on the professional driving licence itself.
